It would be great if you could get a nice kick start with the water tablets.. Even though they are not really a long term answer to weight loss, the weight loss you experience might very well provide just the inspiration and motivation you need. Good luck with the weight loss and also with the leg ulcer.

Weight loss could ramp up a bit, I went to get the leg ulcer dressed
and because my leg had swollen again they put me on water tablets (the
swelling is stopping the ulcer healing as fast as it could) the main
side effect of the water tablets (well other than reducing the edema)
is weight loss
