Hmm I think a small amount of dairy is reasonable (especially for women), another of these "just don't go overboard" things

I don't believe that eating cheese is going to help any diet. 

Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn has called cheese, "liquid meat." 

It is such a calorically dense food.  There is no reason why someone who is trying to create a calorie deficit to lose weight would eat ANY cheese or dairy let alone follow a diet calling for cheese consumption.
