[VegetarianSlimming] Re: Lose a Little Weight

 

Hi Carol,
I've not had experience with herbal teas, sorry, but there's a lot of anecdotal evidence (and v. little scientific evidence, alas) that many herbal teas do help to boost metabolism. It may be coincidence, but a few years ago when I needed to lose around 20 lbs I drank a lot of green tea (mainly to cut down on coffee and regular tea) and at the same time was following a good diet (straight vegan, more or less Dr Fuhrman) and easy exercise (mainly walking plus a few stretches, etc.). And I lost the weight. Can't say which one of these was the deciding factor or whether it was a combination.

What can be said is that green tea (and many other 'teas' which are herbal rather than actual teas) are delicious, good hot or cold, and certainly make one feel less than hungry by filling the tum. Think I'll make a cup right now :)
