Lila - it is a case of finding an eating plan that suits you, a friend of mine cannot eat large amounts of carbs because she swells up, but another finds the same with protein so this is an ideal diet for her.  I need to get through a certain amount of calories a day or a pile weight on and so this suits me as well :)

I'm eating very small amounts of bread & potatoes at the moment.

I wouldn't lose any weight on that diet.
