Changing to a veg diet made my "funk" soooo much better. I blamed the poor food on the things going on in my life. The more research I read, the more confirmed I became.
Best of luck on changing those bad habits.
An easy habit to make is to eat "unplugged" from phone, internet, and t.v. Also, get up and move around after eating. Even doing the dishes after dinner gets the food moving and your digestion kicks in. Or, I am trying to walk after meals (or just on my feet) for 5-10 minutes.

Hi!
I'm new around here and hopefully new to veganism. I was a semi-vegetarian as a child (only eating fish) but switched to eating meat when I was 16 and had my first taste of steak. What can I say, it was delicious! I never became a crazy meat eater, only eating red meat approx once a month. I've always eaten healthy fare, tofu, exotic delicious organic types. I would like to adopt an even healthier lifestyle now after about a month of feeling anxious and depressed. It's time to make some changes!
I am 28, a newly wed, a new house owner, and a behavior specialist for the school system in Md. I love art, nature, music, and life! However, I have let life's crazy get the best of me this past year and i have adopted some unhealthy habits adding 15-20lbs on my frame. Prior to this phase I worked out every day, and since then, zilch.
I'm on a quest to get myself back!
