It's all very well for those who don't have other disabilities/illnesses, or for those whose disabilities/illnesses are only a result of obesity.
They should give those personal trainers a bit of medical background.

[Vegetarianslimming] Re: soy-belly fat?
I think perhaps when dealing with the issue of soy, most particularly ones that are more processed, that moderation really needs to be the key.
I know there are a lot of reports that Asian women get less breast cancer due to consuming it, but there are also a lot of reports of it slowing down thyroid function ( see any books or articles by Mary Shoman ).
Eat it if you like it, but perhaps not in massive doses or even daily.

Yes, you are right....nothing happens without exercise, Marty.
I'm on that as well. I am a walker and I love my bicycle so I am glad the weather is breaking. I did read an article that even 30 minutes is soooo beneficial. I believe that because ironically, I've made myself take at least that much time- even if 10, 10, 10 throughout the day.
I'm also now commuting which stinks because it robs my time. (I am a fulltime student and worker)so time is a commodity.

[Vegetarianslimming] Re: soy-belly fat?
Well- I love soy milk of all kinds, but I am in the process of fading it out-that's for sure.
And, I eat a lot of products with soy in it. I think you are right-and I am about to actively get rid of anything that is GMO.
Thank you for the Hempmilk recipe...
But, my bigger disappointment is the PROCESSED soy (UGH...) Guess I'll be buying the book for a hundred gazillion bean recipes.
I am determined to be svelt again without eating meat! I don't mind starting with lacto-ovo because vegan still seems so limiting. This is my 4TH time going vegetarian and I really want to make it stick. My weight has been crawling up higher, and higher and now I totally disgusted. I just have to get a grip on this.
I also noticed on my calorieking charts that everytime I eat dairy, wheat and even processed soy............my calories go over limit....as does fat.

Re: [Vegetarianslimming] soy-belly fat?
That COULD explain my problems, since I consume MASSIVE amounts of soy.
Nothing ELSE has explained it, since I ALSO consume MASSIVE amounts of
vegetables and fruits.

Re: [Vegetarianslimming] Re: soy-belly fat?
I don't think soy is good because it's GMO

I don't know if soya milk makes me fat as I can't drink it (it makes me sick so
I gave up on it).
I am OK with ordinary skimmed milk, but only drink it in tea and coffee, not by
itself.
And I'm OK with Quorn, which some people can't eat. You can get various Quorn
"chicken style" products. Hope they are available where you live.
